Sholem Aleichem Published in Azerbaijani
The Azerbaijan Translation Centre (AzTC) has published the book titled “Selected Works” by Solomon Naumovich Rabinovitz, better known under his pen name Sholem Aleichem. He is one of the preeminent classical writers of modern Yiddish literature.
Sholem Aleichem, the master of the most man-made hidden and sensitive issues with a very sharp sense of humor, in his works criticizes tragicomic events caused by ugliness and ignorance of his time.
The book includes the short novel Tevye the Milkman and more than 20 short stories including The Gymnasium, Tombs of Ancestors, A History With Three Cities, Three Widows, etc.
The translator is Farhad Abdullayev.
