Victoria Romero: Joint Projects of the Centre and Latin American Embassies Ought To Be Continued

On September 26, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of Mexico to Azerbaijan, Mrs. Victoria Romero, visited the State Translation Centre. During the meeting, the exchange of views took place on the translation and publication projects implemented by the Centre in relation to the promotion of Latin American literature in Azerbaijan and the expansion of the Azerbaijani-Mexican literary and cultural ties. The parties emphasized great love and interest towards the literature of Latin America in Azerbaijan, and talked about the importance of long-running translation and publication projects that have been implemented since 90s and the presentation of works by world-famous Mexican writers, such as Gabriel García Márquez, Juan Rulfo, Carlos Fuentes, Pablo Neruda, Mario Vargas Llosa, to the Azerbaijani reader.

Mrs. Victoria Romero: “Within the framework of close and effective cooperation with the Azerbaijan State Translation Centre (AzSTC), we intend to organize a wide presentation of publications of Latin American Literature released by the AzSTC. We expect the participation of representatives from the diplomatic missions of Latin American countries, operating in Azerbaijan, at the event. We are taking all necessary measures to invite famous poets and writers representing the countries of Latin America as guests at this literary festival.”
