Shahmar’s Short Story on Russian Literature Portal
“Izba-Chitalnya”, the popular Russian literature portal, has posted in Russian the short story “The Loss” by Shahmar, the notable Azerbaijani writer, as part of the AzSTC project “Azerbaijan Literature in an International Virtual World.”
The translator of the short story presented with detailed information on the author is Dinara Garakmazli.
It is worth noting that the portal, established in 2007 and followed by a wide auditorium of readers, was included in the list of leading Internet resources of Russia in 2020.
SHAHMAR
(1939–1989)
· was a writer and publicist;
· graduated from Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts;
· worked at A. Shaig State Puppet Theatre;
· some of his works have been performed on the stage of the theatre;
· started his creative activity in 1977 with the short story “A Small Mistake”;
· the short story collections – “The Matchmaking” and “The Loss” have been published;
· was awarded the M.F. Akhundov State Prize after his death.
