State Management Academy hosts the book launch of: We did Believe in Azerbaijan’s Independence

State Management Academy under the President of the Azerbaijan Republic on Wednesday hosted the book launch of: We did Believe in Azerbaijan’s Independence by Alimardan Topchubashov, the conceptor of the ADR - Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, a prominent politician, Foreign Minister and Speaker of the Parliament. The publisher is the Azerbaijan Translation Centre (AzTC).

Academician Urkhan Alakbarov, Rector of State Management Academy, opened the event. He said the book was published “to chronicle the centenary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.”

“2018 has been declared a "Year of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic" under an Order endorsed by President Ilham Aliyev.”     

The floor was then given to Professor Vilayat Guliyev, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Hungary, who is the compiler of the book. He focused on Topchubashov’s political and publicistic heritage, recalling his articles, speeches, travel notes, diplomatic correspondence, op-eds and letters included in the book.

He went on saying that the book is a valuable source for historians, diplomats, politicians, particularly for teaching diplomacy at higher education institutions.

The event closed with discussions launched by Professor Elman Nasirov, a member of Azerbaijan`s Milli Majlis (Parliament); Professor Elchin Ahmadov, Head of the State Management Academy Political Management Department; Professor Solmaz Rustamova-Tohidi of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS); Professor Havva Mammadova of the State Management Academy History Department; Associate Professor Firdovsiyye Ahmadova, Head of the State Management Academy History Department. All the discussants expressed their views on the edition.
