AzSTC Hosts Roundtable on Latin American Literature
The Azerbaijan State Translation Centre (TC) on Wednesday hosted a roundtable on Spanish & Latin American Literature. The event that received a visit from Yekaterina Feygina, a Ph.D and Associated Professor at Moscow State University gathered TC’s translators and literati to discuss how translated literary samples are selected and the quality of translation work is reviewed. Also in attendance included Vilayet Hajiyev, a notable translator; Pusta Akhundova, a leading specialist on Eastern European countries; as well as writers and translators such as Saday Budagly, Yashar Aliyev, Etimad Bashkechid, Nariman Adulrahmanly and Mahir Garayev.
The roundtable carried out a productive exchange of views on the contemporary Spanish and Latin American literature and its relevance for Azerbaijan, including works by well-known Mexican novelist Laura Esquivel.
