Khazar World Literature Magazine New Issue Published

The latest issue of Khazar World Literature magazine has been published.
Highlights of the issue include:
An interview with Nobel Prize winner Alice Munro (translated by Elcan Salmangizi) and her short story Chance (translated by Yashar Aliyev).
The column “Golden Age Writers” features Pushkin’s poems, which have not been included in textbooks (translated by Ramiz Rovshen), American poets - Richard Brautigan, Diane di Prima and Jeffers Robinson’s poems (translated by Zakir Fakhri).
The column called “Followers of the Path to Salvation” “Saints and Their Sayings” portrays Mansur al-Hallaj and other representatives of Sufism (translated by Afag Masud).
The column “Fiction” showcases extracts from Argentinean novelist Ernesto Sabato’s novel The Tunnel (translated by Saday Budaqlı), French novelist Marcel Proust’s Swann's Way (translated by Zahid), as well as short stories by Ernest Hemingway and Rubén Bareiro.
Farid Huseyn presents snatches from Pictures of Landscape by Turkish novelist Orhan Pamuk.
The columns, such as “Aphorisms and Quotations”, “Writer About Writer”, “Feelings, Thoughts”, “Our Turkish Brothers”, “Debut” include examples from the work by Ezra Pound (USA), Sherwood Anderson (USA), Akutagawa (Japan), Asaf Hâlet Çelebi (Turkey), and other interesting publications.
Khazar magazine, first published in 1989 and printed quarterly, is currently published by the Translation Centre under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic (AzTC).
Khazar magazine, publishes both established and emerging contemporary poetry and prose from a diverse array of authors across the world, as well as their biographies, memoirs, diaries, interviews, etc. which are translated into Azerbaijani by highly qualified translators.
Khazar that had experienced discontinuous printing over the financial difficulties in recent years will release one more issue this year and four in 2015.
