Javid Zeynally’s Short Story on Austrian Literature Portal

“Gedichtesammlung.net”, the Austrian literature portal, has posted in German the short story “The Geography Teacher’s Jacket” by Javid Zeynally, a young talented writer, within the frame of the AzSTC project “The Latest Azerbaijan Literature.” The literature portal also provides detailed information on the writer.

The translators of the short story into German are Sahiba Ibrahimova, a German language specialist, and Andrea Criber, a notable Austrian philologist.

It is worth noting that the portal, which has been launched since 2006, regularly publishes works by young talented authors throughout the world.

 

Javid Zeynally

 

        was born in Jalilabad town in 1986;

–        received his bachelor’s and master’s degree at the Library and Information Science faculty of Baku State University;

–        his first novel Hopeful Look to the Future came out in 2010;

–        won “The Best Young Writer of the Year” Award by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan in 2010.

    The presentation ceremony of the book “Heydar Aliyev and Georgia” dedicated to the “Year of Heydar Aliyev” and published by the leading Georgian “Merani” Publishing House has been held in Tbilisi. In her opening speech at the event launched in the large assembly hall of the Parliament of Georgia Makvala Gonashvili, the Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Georgia and winner of the Rustaveli State Prize, spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s decisive role in the political, economic and social life of Georgia in the difficult periods of its history and energy projects thanks to which fundamental changes in the field of policy and economic realities in the region had been achieved. Then, Afag Masud, the Board Chair of the Azerbaijan State Translation Centre and People’s Writer took the floor.
