Georgian TV Covered Activities of Azerbaijan State Translation Centre

 

   The Georgian based “12th TV Channel” has broadcast a programme dedicated to the development of intergovernmental literary ties in the frame of successful international projects realized by the Azerbaijan State Translation Centre (AzSTC). Makvala Gonashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Writers’ Union, Bela Qeburia, a notable Georgian poet, Ilgar Garayev, Head of the International Relations Office at the Azerbaijan State Translation Centre, and Imir Mammadli, a writer-translator, Coordinator for literary relations with Georgia participated in the programme.

   Jemal Gorgiladze, the host of the programme, a renowned Georgian journalist spoke about the importance of close literary ties established between Georgia and Azerbaijan in recent years, about the successful projects being implemented by the AzSTC in the field of literary exchange. Makvala Gonashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Writers’ Union, and Bela Qeburia, a notable Georgian poet spoke about the importance of the projects abroad, including Georgia, about the books published in Georgian, such as “An Anthology of Modern Azerbaijan Literature”, “The World Dissolves Like a Dream”, a collection of poems by Leyla Aliyeva, a young talented poetess, and the poem “Leyli and Majnun” by the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi due to the announcement of 2021 as a “Year of Nizami Ganjavi” in Azerbaijan. As it was stated by the participants, all these editions were met with interest and highly appreciated by the Georgian literary community and a wide range of readers.

   Ilgar Garayev, Head of the International Relations Office at the AzSTC, and Imir Mammadli, a writer-translator, Coordinator for literary relations with Georgia thanked the Georgian colleagues for appreciating the Centre’s activities and spoke about future translation and publishing projects.
