ASTC hosts a round table dedicated to Imadeddin Nasimi
The Azerbaijan State Translation Centre (AzSTC) hosted a round table dedicated to the 650th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Imadeddin Nasimi on July 29, 2019.
Doctor of Philology, Professor Badirkhan Ahmadli, Doctor of Philology, Professor Rustam Kamal, Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor Vilayat Hajiyev, Yashar Aliyev, Mahir Garayev, Nariman Abdulrahmanli, Ehtimad Bashkechid, Salam Sarvan, Pusta Akhundova and et.al attended the event.
It was stated that the order by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to declare 2019 as the Year of Nasimi in Azerbaijan - the year 2019 is marked as the 650th birth anniversary of the poet - is a significant cultural event in the national life. The participants of the event were informed about the Imadeddin Nasimi’s book I Have Set Myself on the Road of Truth published in Moscow and about the poet’s book to be published in Baku in the near future.
Moderating the event, Ehtimad Bashkechid, a writer and translator, talked about the various aspects of the poet’s creativity and personality, as well as actual problems of studying Nasimi’s heritage.
There were held discussions on the perspectives of promoting and popularizing Nasimi’s heritage, philosophical views, and thoughts about life worldwide that had gained immense fame in Azerbaijan, the Middle East, Iraq, Asia Minor, Syria and Central Asia in his own lifetime.
